Charlie Newman
I was tasked with making a portfolio website for a model and journalist, Charlie Newman.
The first stage was getting a grip on the overall style and feel of the website and color was an important part of this. I gave her 3 options inspired by examples of colour from websites and art she liked. We then settled on a clean, simple and friendly style.
Like any other website - separate important design challanges came with making sure the site looked good on all devices.
The most challenging part of this was converting PDFs from a printed Magazine (5ELEVEN) with restricted editing to responsive web pages. There was an issue with the PDFs that required me to extract all of the text using an OCR then adding it back again to the web editor. I also outlined the titles for the website to maintain the look and feel of the 5ELEVEN articles.

Rollover effects and simple animations set the website apart from a default template-made site. I used WIX's newly introduced Hover Boxes to fulfill some specific design requests and improve on the default menu-style options.
